In the One Olympics? In 1896, Australia sent only one athlete to Athens - Teddy Flack. He competed in Track and Field and then in Tennis.

He won gold for both running events and is considered to have recieved Bronze for the Mens doubles tennis. Because his partner was British, that bronze is awarded under the 'Mixed' country.

More recently - Rebecca Romero of Great Britain today competes for the Gold Medal in the Womens Individual Pursuit Finals (Track Cycling)

In Athens 2004 she won a Silver Medal for Quadruple Sculls (Rowing).

The pentathlon does not count, because all 5

disciplines are included in the same sport-Track and Field. I sure don't think that anyone has done what you are asking, but anything can happen. I googled it and could not come up with anything. Great question though!

The closest would be the decathlon which is an athletic event combining ten track and field events. Many athletes participate in this every Olympics. Bruce Jenner (1976) and Dan O;Brien (1996) both won the Gold for USA
