  1. We were NOT "prosperous under Reagan." Reagan spent this country into the poorhouse.

AS has every Republican President, always leaving the next Democratic President to get us OUT of the economic MESS.

  2. The growth of this country after 9-11 was stupendous. Yes, there was growth under Clinton. But it was based on a phony economy. Do you remember the words "irrational exuberance"?

  3. A couple of boom towns in my state.

One structured around the Air Force and Army, and another around Informaion Technology.

Doing a lot better now than when everyone was in line at the unemployment office  under Clinton.

  4. The Clinton years were more prosperous than the Reagan years, which had started to tank with the Real Estate crash in 1987.

People are quick to blame the Carter years for rising inflation; Carter's term had to deal with the backlash of Nixon's and Agnew's crimes; the palcing of Gerald Ford, a non-elected official as president; and the Ford Administration's bungling of our economy. The gas lines started in 1973, not during Carter's watch.

  5. 1. He’s desperate. Let’s stop pretending this race is as close as national polling suggests.

  6. There was prosperity under Reagan? It must have passed me by.

  7. I am just curious , do you not think that America is not the most prosperous country in the world . I am laughing . Its the economy stupid is a famous punch line.  Hmmmmm , wonder why people are jumping the border to come here.Hmmmm , how many cars do you see on the road , Hmmmm. I would like to think that we still live in a country that allows you to be prosperous if you go after it instead of waiting for it to be given to you by big brother (government) . The government does not make me it only taxes me to death to take care of lazy people who have an attitude of pay me well before i prove that i  will be productive. Are you starving ? Look at some other places in the world. Don't lert china fool you don't let europe fool you .

  8. Not in my 65 years,  the Trickle Down Theory never Trickles far from the recipient, Give it to the Poor it will always trickle up. They spend it they need it they don't hoard it for power. I been waiting on Bushes Trickle Down , and all the Money we would get from Irak Oil , if any one has it I wish they would Share it with me ,my heating bill is unbelievable .  Eisenhower before Kennedy ,  No jobs and Bush after Clinton's  Surplus. Where did it Go the Republican might know I don't

  9. Don't blame your bad luck on Republicans

  10. Uh, prosperity under Reagan?  Are you crazy?  He robbed every single private fund he could get his hands on to make it "seem" like everything was peachy.  Colleges and Universities had to triple their tuition rates, and lost 18% of student registration because of it.  His thieving put 2.8 million mentally ill people on the street.  He closed 15 VA hospitals.  He was so closely affiliated and in the pocket of big business, that his bias was obvious.  The difference between Reagan and the Bushes, is he was a better liar.

But to answer your question, I think that Nixon was a basically good president (except for his need to snoop when he shouldn't).  He shut down Johnson's Viet Nam war, and he had the GREATEST secretary of state there ever was:  Kissinger.  Ford never had a chance to be a good president.  Because he was part of Nixon's staff, he didn't have a chance to do anything.

  11. Beneath the superiority of our Benevolent Majesties, dare you be so bold as to consider the labors of the common man?!

Each Divine Appointee whose butt has warmed the fill-feathers of that Ovularly Official (oval office) Throne (office chair) was veritably touched by the hand of [the mainstream media -- who consider themselves 'the Almighty, alrighty?']

Bow, then, and never speak again, lest you incite among the common people a newfound will to speak their minds and consider even our Rulers as equals. Or, God forbid, consider them their "servants in government!"

    ...

[In case any of you just woke up and read this, my point is that the economy is never the product of our 'president' who is, in fact, little more than a 'whipping-boy-reminder' of the monarchical despot we usurped. WE the People, make the economy what it is by finding needs (needs that now span a global marketplace) and filling those needs]

  12. my salary has doubled in the last 8 years...so yeah its prosperous

  13. Nope, it has been a horrible run and even saying that the Regan years were good is a stretch because the only reason it was good was because he used millions of dollar's from the government to make it seem it was good when the US money supply slowly drained.

  14. Prosperity for our country is based on having a free market, strong economy, and little socialism as possible.

Sorry, my party isn't delivering anymore.

    Democrats for McCain.

  15. Lots of layoffs under him too.

  16. Nope. Your question answers itself!
