Has this ever been done before?

This might seem like gloating ... and h**l yeah it is but it's been 44 years OK?

Just got my renewal letter from the Cats and they quote achievements including:

. AFL Premiership

. VFL Premiership

. Brownlow

. NAB Rising Star

. Norm Smith Medal

. JJ Liston medal

. Nine players in All Australian team

Ignoring the AFL/VFL split and call it firsts and reserves if you like. Has anyone done this before? First/Reserve Premierships, B&F in both and BOG in the GF (Rising Star and All Australian might have to be counted out for the argument but I'll be impressed if they have)

Oh. I'm so gonna buy this year's Grange Hermitage ... just hope I don't have to cellar it for 44 years before I can gloat again!!

Go on mate......BASK in the glory! You`ve waited a bloody long time. Good to see you still havent lost that warm winning glow....not too sure about your stats, but it must be one of the most succesful seasons ever.

Dont think that will happen again, they had a great year, i cant see anyone beating them they should go back to back

Probably not. What is the JJ liston medal??? never heard or cared much for it. And interstate teams dont have their own teams like vics do in the VFL. Well atleast for WA i know west coast and freo dont have their own teams, their players are just mixed through th teams in th comp.

But congrats to Geelong. They played well all year. I dont care who wins the next few premierships now, im a WCE supporter, ive lived through 2 premeirships (1 i can remember), so im happy for another 10 years.

Probably not - so therefore there is a genuine reason to gloat about the achievements.

But....................How long has the AFL/VFL double been able to be achieved?

How long has the NAB Rising Star award been issued?

How long has the JJ Liston medal been on issue?

How long has there been an announcement of an Australian team?

Great awards - but they have really only been brought about by TV coverage & sponsorship.

There must have been some wonderful team & player achievements in the past that have received no such recognition.

I collect Grange Hermitage - & a word of advice, don't try drinking it, it's not that flash!

RayA - stand up and gloat all you like buddy, coz you so deserve to.  Geelong were by far the superior team all year!

I havent heard of any other team accomplishing the above in one year, though I would think Brisbane Lions would come close.

You can gloat as much as you can Ray. Heck...Why not? I would. Geelong has proven to be THE BEST TEAM this year, I would gloat everyday, until the season starts up again.
