Has this ever happened to you and what is it?

Do you think that you can be so close to someone that you can sometimes read their thoughts? When I was a kid I could sometimes tell my mother what she was going to say before she even said it.

And just the other day I was thinking to myself about something that happened back in the summer, and my 4-year

old daughter suprised me by bringing up the same subject.

And it's not the first time she has done that.

Has this ever happened to you? Is it merely a coincidence?

one thing ive learnt there are no such things as coincidences....some people are well tuned into each other, they can pick up on thoughts.....there is one thing that happened this year that spun me out a little...i was thinking about someone full on..now i dont drink but a friend got me to run into the bottle shop for them, and as soon as i walked in there was a brand name of wines displayed in a rack...they had the same name as the persons last name i was thinking of.....nights later i was sitting there in deep thought watching tv but not paying attention...i was thinking of that day i saw his name in the bottle shop...then bang a tv ad came on about that wine for the first time on tv, with his last name.....little things like that will happen all the time....

Yeah, that happens to me a lot. And from experience, if i had to guess, I'd say you picked up your daughter's thoughts and just voiced them first. But I'm telepathic, and I can tell you from experience that picking up someone else's thoughts is a very deceptive thing. They come to me AS my own thought, so they're almost indistinguishable (I'm still learning how to tell). What I've been able to tell so far is that the thought that isn't my own is often softer yet more intrusive. More intrusive meaning it's a thought that comes seemingly out of nowhere (you're ingrossed in something at work, concentrating solely on that thing, when suddenly you find yourself worried about your daughter at school). So, yeah, sometimes it can be coincidental, but most of the time, most people just aren't aware of the signals of when it's someone else's thought. It really is very easy and I firmly believe that we all possess psychic gifts; some are just more in touch with them is all.

Ohh, a perfect example, that happened to me recently. I was seated a table with about 4 other people, and someone asked the man seated across from me what his favorite ice cream was. First thought to pop into my head was Rocky Road. Popped into my mind just the way as if I'd simply silently offered my own guess. But guess what his answer was?

It's experience,when you're close to someone like a mother or child.You can tell what they're going to say or do..I'm sure that's just what your daughter did.

Obviously if you are close to someone, you will know their likes and dislikes as well has habits and mannerisms, so it is very likely that you will "Know" what they are thinking, or going to say in a given situation. There is nothing strange or paranormal about it.

Every once in a while this happens to me but I think it's just because I know 'how' the specific person thinks and acts.

You must have met my family. We're like that all the time. I remember one day I was playing outside with friends, and could swear I heard my mom call me. I said I had to go, my mom was calling, and my friends were like "What are you talking about? No one called you!" I left anyway, and when I got home I asked if she had called me and she said that she was about to.

Or there were times I was either asleep or falling asleep in class and my mother shouted my name in my head to wake me up. She did that the first time and I was so surprised I fell out of my chair.

Whether or not it's a coincidence or something paranormal is up to your personal beliefs I guess.

We are only using a small pro sent of our brain capacity. Who knows what else we could be able to do?! Maybe you and your daughter have found out a way of using your brain's a bit more than a rest of us.

You're not reading thoughts in any paranormal sense, but you may be picking up subconcsious cues, body language, inflections of tone etc. Bare in mind that 70% of what we think we hear is actually non-verbal communication and you can see there's no good reason why this shouldn't be a perfectly normal occurence between two people who know each other well.

Some of this can be explained by coincidence and familiarity/experience with the other person. However, Upton Sinclair (Pulitzer prize winning author) wondered the same thing you did and conducted a series of experiments with his wife that he published in a book called "Mental Radio" and he became convinced that is was something more going on then knowing one another.

You might take a look at the book to get some idea of how you could test this idea for your self.

its a learned response. by spending so much time in close contact with someone, you begin to tell by their expressions and by the subject matter how they are going to answer said subject.Why? because you have seen their expressions in relation to what ever is going on so often. And someone says a catch word or phrase and it opens both parties memories about the subject at the same moment. If something is talked about often enough, then the memory becomes everyones memory due to everyone hearing about it or being involved in it.

Yes i  have read someones thoughts. My twin sister,  when she was in hospital having the baby, i knew she was, coz i was feeling her pain too, then the other day i was thinkin about the holiday we had    when we was kids,  my sister phones me later that day and she mentioned the holiday to me that she was thinkin  about the same holiday...

All the time, sometimes it happens so often between myself and my husband that it makes it difficult to keep things like birthday suprises secret...just means you are intuitive and very intune with the person that it happens between. It's your natural inborn psychic senses working that we ALL have, just some of us choose to ignore (which is a shame).

You are not reading anyone's thoughts.

When you spend a lot of time with people you can get a feel for how they think and how they feel about things. If you and that person have a lot in common then it stands to reason that you will often share the same thought processes.

My bf and I constantly say the same things at the same time. Can we read each other's minds? No. We just know each other very well and are very much a like.

There are some preformers that make a living off of predicting what you will say and do, or manipulating you into doing / saying what they want.

Point is, if someone knows enough about the way you think, especially if they spend a lot of time with you, chances are they will be able to figure out you will say or do.

My kids can always say what I am thinking before I say it, it is uncanny. In fact my daughter brought home an article from school and left it on the kitchen table, so I was reading it and then she started to read it... she was only 4, I thought she was reading my mind instead of actually reading. LOL. SHe was actually reading. This is how I found out that she could read, and well at that.

They also had a friend who was very in -tuned to me. In fact they were in the first or second grade and this little girls was at my house. I was noting (silently) how strange her hair looked  as she was asking me "when are we going to the HAIR? She meant Park, and she was not even aware that she said hair, she was just reading my thoughts . Another time her mother was whispering to me that she was going to surprize her daughter with tickets to "The Lion King", she had no sooner finished whispering this to me when her daughter came running over from her group of griends and asked  me when she was going to go see the "Lion King".... too scary.

I forbade her mother to tell me anything else that she did not want her daughter to know as she could read right through my head. No secrets from that child. LOL.

When you spend a lot of time with someone you learn how they think and what their thoughts are on certain things.  When I was a kid my buddies and I shared any number of inside jokes, so when a particular situation arose we would all have the same response.  It's not paranormal, it's just knowing the people you spend a lot of time with.

i dont know, it could be coincidence. I agree with the familarity. when you know someone so well, you fel as if you know what they are thinking. on the other hand, i believe that people constantly send out energy with their thoughts and some people are highly sensitive to them.

one of my sisters and i used to experiment with this. i'd think of something she had never seen... she described it in detail. i can't explain this, but it has to be more than coincidence.

Doesn't surprise me.  Children are much more open to thoughts coming through and then letting them out, whereas we stop and look at things, second guess, etc.
