What could be the reason for me getting AF 2 weeks after AF?

Ok some background....

We have been TTC since Jan 08. For the first 3 months I got AF every fortnight - This didn't worry me too much, as i had been on BC for so long, it was just my body sorting itself out.

However, after the first 3 months, I started an excellent 28 day cycle, which has been perfectly regular until last AF was 2 days early (was due on the 6 Aug, and got them on the 4th)....so would be due to ovulate about now, however I just went to the loo and there is AF although it's brown!!

I'm just getting so upset.

Any ideas?

Thank you in advance

  1. That had happened to me on day 15.  It was brown and light in flow.  For me, it continued for 9 days before I spoke to my OBGYN about it.  She had said that it was because I didn't ovulate (anovulation).  She prescribed me Provera for 10 days to stop the bleeding and "reset" my cycle.  It worked.  I'm not saying that this is what is happening to you, but it is a possibility.

Implantation bleeding is also a possibility but that would only be ever so light spotting and not any kind of flow.

If it lasts a few days, it would be good to call your OBGYN.  If it doesn't, get a HPT and test in 2 weeks.

Good luck!  Baby dust to you!!!!

  2. I wouldnt get upset hun!! If its brown it means that it is OLD blood, and it is probably just your body cleaning itself!! Dont worry about it! xx

  3. It's possible from vigorous coitus, OR it could be implantation bleeding.  I know the timing seems wrong, but from all I've been reading from various websites (I'm also ttc) our bodies don't always do what the textbooks say they should.  Such as all the ladies with negative HPT who were, in fact, pregnant.  I had been having regular monthly cycles, then one I was stressed and ended up 2 weeks late, but the next one came on time (a month later).  If it's associated with pain, or more bleeding, you might want to see a health professional.
