  1. 3 colds in four months seems a bit much for your baby. You say she doesn't stop sneezing...my first thought is allergies. Does she have any that you know of? Are her shots up-to-date (had to ask, sorry)? I'd be making an office visit if it were my child.

    Sorry, and good luck

  2. Yes, My son seemed too have a cold from the day he was born till he was 3 months. My midwifes told me that it was from his mucus plug, and thats how they clear their nose by sneezing. * My son  would sneeze and be stuffed up all the time. All I gave him was saline drops for his nosey, brought alot of the bogeys out . If you are breastfeeding, its good for her, cuz u are giving her your anti bodies. There's not that much u can do when they are that young.

  3. It's happening with my son too. He is only 4 months old but has already had 2 colds. The little mite was sneezing from the day he was born !

Anyway, i don't worry about it too much as i know it is helping to develop his immune system.

If your baby is really snotty  then i suggest you get one of those snot suckers to help to clear her nose.

I hope your little girl is managing to smile through her cold like my boy is.

  4. Could be allergies.  My 21 month daughter has only had 2 cold so far but around May (she was 18 months old) and the season started changing she developed a runny nose but had no other cold symptoms.  So I asked the doctor about it and she said it was more than likely allergies, since I have bad allergies when it comes to pollen and cut grass.  She said as long as it didnt seem to really bother her to just let it go and try to steer her clear of fresh cut grass and such, but if it started to bother her then bring her back and they would test her and give her some allergy medicine.

EDIT: To the person that said she is too young to have rice cereal... if she is 18 weeks old then she is over 4 months and old enough to have rice cereal.  4 months is the suggested age to introduce singe grain infant rice cereal.  I doubt very seriously that is the cause of her colds/runny noses.  She would be showing different sypmtoms if it was a food allergy such as, rashs, labored breathing or loose bowel movements.

  5. Same thing with my son, I am wondering if it could be allergies (not the food kind, the outside kind)  ?

  6. This happened to my little daughter, now she's 9 months but at 4 months she started nursery and was getting a cold every two weeks or so, as soon as she recovered she got another one. I asked my paediatrician if this was normal and she said that when they are so young it is. Just when they recover form one cold they catch another. It's typical for babies to get as many as 10 colds in their first year. The poor things, you really feel for them. Their immune systems are working 100 per cent yet and they can catch one thing after another. If you see that your baby is having trouble breathing or has a temperature, then go for a check up just in case.

  7. This could be any number of things,

    the Best Remedy.

  8. I sincerely hope that you stopped giving her the rice cereal.  She is way too young for it and the consequences are allergies when food is introduced too early.

I'm not trying to be harsh, but informative.

  9. wow. my son is 5 months and one cold (or somewhat) of a cold so far.

but maybe something is up with her environment. any pets ? - take her to your doctor.

  10. i agree with the person above. go to your doctor and check if she is allergic to anything or has sinuses (hope i spelled that right) because the person that has them will display cold like symptoms
