  1. yea, now i believe the us open courts are the fastest, it used to be grass, but now they have changed the type of grass to slow it down, also, the hardcourts of the us open start out kind of gritty, but as the tournament progresses they smooth out making them even faster


  2. I think GRASS courts are the fastest, but hard courts are super fast too.

  3. orginally the grass courts at wimbledon were the fastest courts with the least amount of bounce..

    but in the last few years they have slowed the grass courts down, the second week of wimbledon the grass courts almost seem like clay courts!

    The courts at the US OPEN are the fastest...

  4. It used to be the grass in Wimbledon is the fastest. But in recent history those courts have slowed down considerably, and now US Open has the fastest court.

  5. Yes the US Open Hard courts are very fast. Some players claim that it is even faster than the grass courts. These hard courts are also very bad for the feet and the knees.

    Here are the slams from slowest to fastest.

    Roland Garros- slowest,clay

    Wimbledon- this surface has become slower through the years. McEnroe said the surface is closer to clay than it is to hard courts

    Australian Open- similar to U.S.Open but the surface is a bit grittier which allows for the ball to kick up higher, This is what Mary Carillo said.

    U.S. Open- the fastest court on tour.  

  7. Australian Open courts are also very fast, but word (of athletes) has it, US Open organizers tried to slow things down a bit this year, by using slightly larger, heavier balls.

  8. Yea, it's the fastest. I think they slowed the Wimbledon grass down, not sure why.
