I've heard it was, but I'm not sure.

Any details as to why, if it's true?

  1. I never heard such a thing and my wife is a Registered Dietitian. We're both vegetarians and we both work in health care. If there was any reliable literature on that topic, I'm sure we would have heard of it by now.

I doubt if there is any truth to that.

  2. I've not read anything say this was so.

BUT I have read plenty on RAW Vegans getting a upshot of new energy. This would & could make someone need less rest.

Thinking on this maybe even just cleaning up a diet to Veggie/Vegan could do the same.

  3. A vegetarian diet has not been found to be a major help for people with insomnia.

  4. I haven't heard this. I have heard that many vegetarians find that they have more energy after dropping meat.

This makes some sense, since vegetarians are getting less saturated fat and tryptophan (both of which can make you sleepy).

So, no, I haven't heard of a vegetarian diet making it harder for people to fall asleep, but I have heard of it (same goes for vegan and raw diets) making people need less sleep.

  5. I recently became a vegetarian and I have an abundance of energy, but when I lay down at night I usually fall asleep within a half hour and sleep soundly

  6. I've never read any medical literature to support such an asinine claim.
