  1. Both, but more to global economy, I believe.

  2. Come here late at night and you are speaking to mostly people from England.  I am old enough to think that is really cool.  You get people from all over the world that try to speak English and ask questions here.  The economy may benefit but the effect on society is likely to be even more profound as technology advances and translation programs get even better.

  3. Oh yes to both. People who would never ever communicate with other different people are now arguing with each other. Y!A is a good example of a community adjusting to such a varied selection of opinions.

Technology has evolved faster than our cabability of co-existing.

In example. The recent outrage by the whole Muslim community by the publication of a depiction of the Profet Muhammat. Without computers, this would have stayed as a mostly local event. What it was a clash of cultures that escalated because we all had access to the information, but a very basic understanding of cultural diversity.

    Peace!
