Has wooden decking gone out of fashion yet?

I was thinking of getting some but I wonder if its all getting a bit passé these days as everyone has it?

Our best friend is a home builder, most of his homes have wood decks.  I would say out of 100, only 4 are white plastic, out of the 4, only 1 is solid plastic.  Why some home owners decided on wood planking & posts, with white plastic rail & cap is beyond me.  Wood may eventually go out of style whenever the plastic/vinyl comes in more variety of colors to match siding of homes, along with lower pricing.

No it hasn't my neighbour put his up the other week it looks great and my mates wooden decking is great too.

Be prepared to look after it (Treat it clean it etc) though!!

Beautiful wood decks are timeless.  Ipe and Mahogany are great choices for a deck.  Of course, wood needs more care than composite decks, but there is a big difference.  Look at all of those awful plastic fences and the elegance of a well constructed wood fence.  Get a professionally designed and constructed deck- it will never be 'passe'.

It's very passe' now everyone into indian natural sandstone.Decking is for the saddos that buy laminate wood flooring for the whole house

decking i belive will never go out of fasion i think is a realy great thing to have and you can desighn so many wonderfull out door spaces with it.i noticed it was very popular at the chealsea flower show this year lots of quality .
