Has you ever started a new job with vacation scheduled within weeks?

I have a number of short airline trips scheduled during the next few months but also may start a new job. Has anyone started a new job and then took vacation days right away because you had already paid for the trip?

How did you work it out with your employer, or did you just cancel the trip and take the loss?

When you were discussing the new job with the new employer you should have mentioned it to them. If they want you that bad they will work around it.
