to distant Future???

I say this because .......the company i work for is a fortune 100 company and they had a financial Meeting that consisted such topics and even the history of the depression and the implications that occured in the Manufacturing industry.

I will say that it made many people nervous!

I was told that the meeting was supposed to be a short briefing on this topic but because of the small panic it caused in the employees it lasted a hour.

I have a question.........Would a huge Company or any company for that matter discuss such a topic as a possible depression and risk the Panic of the Employees????

Could this briefing been appointed by the STATE?..........i MEAN this was a bazarre meeting.....would the company risk such a panic or was the state possibly involved in informing the People??

What red Flags are evident to you??

Has this Happend in your company???

Or do you think i looking to much into it?

DO You have a educated opinion on this subject?

  1. I think they were just giving employees a 'heads up' on the situation, and a bit of a warning - that the company needs to stay competitive in an increasingly difficult economic environment, and it is possible that changes may need to be made in the 'not too distant' future for them to maintain a competitve edge.  That could be to encourage more efficiency in the operations and also, that if profits start to decline, don't be surprised if layoffs are discussed, or other belt-tightening measures implemented.
