Has your animal freaked you out by watching something that you cannot see? Did you think it was a ghost?

Maybe a cat or dog?

My cat stares and moves her head around as if she is watching something - or as if someone is playing with her. My dog used to do this in the same spot.

Do you think it is a ghost?

Any stories appreciated

  1. My cat does that, usually it's just a small spider or an ant.

Check to see if there is dust in that area or the reflection of a light/shadow outside.

  2. my cat chases fuzz in the air and bugs, she is still young so she is crazy...  no, i dont think she is seeing a ghost

  3. My cats do that sometimes and I look closer and discover a tiny dust ball or cobweb.

  4. My mother's cat Charlie used to sit on the post at the bottom of the stairs and swat at something.  We thought it was dust molecules, but it was the only place he did it.  He would also sit and chatter at something right below him.  My son, when he was a small toddler,  used to point to the same area and say "Baby!"  We thought he was talking about the cat.

My mother was friends with a psychic, and when he was visiting us for a few days, he looked at me and asked if my mom knew that there was a couple of ghosts in the house. He told us that there was a small baby that had died in my son's nursery and another small girl had died in my room a century or so ago.  I checked at the courthouse, and yes, there was two children that died 65 years apart in the house.  The psychic said the little girl was holding the baby at the bottom of the stairs.  I had NOT told him about my son or the cat prior to him telling us about the ghosts.  Weird....but totally true.

  5. Cats are more sensitive to energy than we are.  The story of a witch having a cat or "familiar" is not a made up story.  Sometimes they are better barometers than dogs as they notify you and are very subtle about it.  If you've lost someone recently or someone you were very close to, I'm sure that they're visiting and enjoying the interaction with her.

I live in CA where we had a recent earthquake; my cat (or familiar) jumped seconds prior to when I first felt it which alerted me to a coming problem.  Interesting creatures and wouldn't live without them.

When it does happen, I would pull my camera out and take a picture and see what you get.  I would also try talking to it to find out who it is.  Obviously your cat is not threatened by it, so have fun with it.
