Last night i hardly slept a wink!

My baby girl was moving for hours on end, and it was making me feel sickly and wanting to wee!

I'm 22 weeks + 4 days.

Should i expect more of this?

How are you meant to sleep when you have a mini-wrestler knocking you around inside?!

  1. yep, your baby will do that! some nights you wont get any sleep! oh the joys of motherhood! good luck!

  2. sorry to hear that i am 38 weeks and haven't gotten a good nights sleep in months. when you lay down they wake up your movements puts them to sleep so when you are resting it's play time for them. i haven't really found anything that helps other than moving positions. hang in there.

  3. Consider yourself lucky. I havent even felt any movements and I'm 18 weeks..so hopefully I will feel some very soon.

  4. Iam 36 weeks and it's not a night that goes by that my son is not trying to kick or punch his way right out of my stomach.  Im starting to wonder if he ever sleeps, every time I wake up to pee or turn there he is doing karate.  This is my fourth child and the other ones were not that aggressive.  So I'm guessing you got alot more coming, and the bigger she gets it will probably get worse. Sorry lol.

  5. Am also 22 wks and 2 days but am not experiencing this as of yet.  I experience that my baby boy kick but not to the point of keeping me awake.  If i may ask, when is your due date since we were both 2 days apart.

    thanks

Thanks for the response.  My due date is Dec.26

    good luck yo us both

  6. Uh oh.  That means your baby will have his days and nights mixed up when he is born.

  7. This is just the beginning!  I am 33 weeks and he keeps me up for a good hour when I lay down.  They feed off of adrenaline and sense when your body is calming down.  They will start to get harder and stronger the further along you get!  Good Luck to you!

  8. Hi,

I think the most important thing to start with is to get your baby into a good sleep routine.  I had massive problems with getting my 4 month old son to sleep.  He would just lie awake and cry for hours, then when he finally went to sleep he would wake every hour or two hours through the night and cry again!  Talk about pulling our hair out .... we were absolutely desperate for sleep!

It was a baby sleep audio program recommended by a friend that finally saved us. We followed the advice and began by creating a baby sleep routine which included bathtime, dimming of the lights, putting James into his crib, final nappy change and then lullabies. We also made recommended changes to his naps during the day and used some of the other recommended techniques. Within two weeks he was sleeping through the night most nights with just the odd night where he would just wake once!

Definitely start by creating a good baby sleep routine though and you could find that solves most of your baby sleep problems.

    Good luck!

  9. My sister is pregnant in 32nd week and the baby's movements sometimes keep her awake even at nights. Don't worry, that means your baby is healthy.
