Question:

Has your baby ever done this?

Every time I put my 4 month old in her cot she rolls onto her side to sleep. This is fine but then she rolls over onto her tummy by mistake and it wakes her up . She can't roll from her front to her back as easily so I'm getting up several times in the night to turn her over... only for her to do it again and again.

Has anyone else had this problem?

I'd leave her on her tummy seeing as she can roll over but she cries because she doesn't like to sleep on her tummy.

  1. I use to wedge a pair of my husbands rolled up socks on each side of my baby at the hips. It kept her in place.

  2. My almost 4 month old does exactly the same thing, so now I just put her to sleep on her side as she sleeps better when her arms are all over the place and she isn't rolling around. We use a rolled up baby blanket and put it in front of her tummy when she lays on her side and sort of position her forwards a little bit which stops her from rolling onto her stomach. She stills rolls onto her back but that's better than her rolling onto her stomach and going crazy because she mattress dived.

  3. My girl was this way but hers was her back. She was a tummy sleeper and when she started to roll it was front to back. Constantly it would wake her at night. The sleep positioners are not safe at this age because they are moving so much. Its hard because once they are rolling it is safe to leave them in the different positions they put themselves in but it takes time for them to adjust. It was only about a week after her first roll that she was able to roll both ways. It wasn't until then that things settled for us. It was starting to be less and less though that she would wake up when on her back. I would give her a few minutes to settle on her own if she wasn't crying just fussing- if crying I always helped her get comfortable by rolling her. Soon she realized she was okay and went back to sleep on her own. It really is just a matter of time in these situations- once she can roll on her own both ways she will find it much easier. Until then you will be her official roller like I was.

  4. Perfectly normal! My son was a side sleeper before he learned to roll all the way around. We got a little sleeper that worked wonders!! ( http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.d... ) He could still sleep on his side, but he wouldn't roll over to his tummy. They're pretty cheap, you might want to try it!

  5. You can buy a sleep positioner? That could help . Some people may suggest use pillows to place on both sides of her, but i wouldn't do it as it is a suffocation hazard.

  6. i think babes use to do this!

i suggest try keep the babe wake with a easy ways

try cache soft a ear .

  7. Use a velcro swaddling blanket, she wont have her hands and feet to use to flip over and she'll stay put better.

  8. Use a rolled up towel on each side of her to keep her from rolling over in her sleep if it disturbs her...or one of those special pillow things they sell in stores (but why go to the expense?)
