  1. I had post natal depression after my third child..and I had counselling for 12 months afterwards plus anti depressants three times a day which is alot !  I started to feel some sense of normality when my son was about 2 yrs old, although I was told by others who knew me they could see the difference  from about 6months after I'd started to receive counselling. I went once a week but my counsellor was always at the end of the phone for me so I would call her if I was having a really bad time.

It's 9 yrs ago now and I've never suffered again like I did after having my son, I remember the counsellor saying to me when we began our sessions "get ready to go on the biggest emotional rollercoster you will ever ride on but you will feel so glad you did it once you get off" and she was right it was the best thing I did for myself..it made me stronger and very much my own person. I'd recommend counselling to anyone suffering with depression..it does work !

  2. i had depression and anxiety and had panic attacks, i went to a psychologist and it took me a good 4 years to get back to normal, had 3 relapses, but i've been out of their care for nearly a year now :) I didn't take anti depressants, and i went roughly once or twice a month!

  3. i had depression for around 5 years, i took anti depressants but they didn't work. i went to see a councillor and 8 months later, I'm no longer depressed, i couldn't imagine it working but it did, and I'm so thank full for it.

i now actually don't mind waking up in the morning, i used to pray before i went to bed i didn't wake up!!

  4. I saw one every week and I took Serteraline(SSRI)anti-depressants.It took me about a year to be able to work through everything.I still get moments but now I have coping techniques for them.

  5. I went to a psychologist about 2 years ago, for about 6 months, and i think i went about once every two weeks.

It helped for a while, but after about a year, i felt the same again.

And no i didnt have antidepressants.

  6. why i dont think it works is simple instead of forgetting your problems and simply moving on your bringing them up to the surface each week!!!and the only way to get over anxiety is by ignoring it thats a fact!!!and drugs simply mask the problem an when it comes to coming off them it will come back ten fold
