I just went to the vet's office to see Molly. Chad took her home because he's off work today. I just wanted to see her. She heard me talking when the vet tech opened the door. She almost flew across the room to me and was kissing all over my face. She bit my lip! It still hurts an hour later.

Has you dog ever done anything like this?

Legit:

How much does your dog weigh?

Eli - probably 100 lbs

Molly 9.5 lbs

  1. My dogs have crazy wagging tails. When they're very excited they can accidentally hurt someone with their tails.

Otherwise, I've been accidentally bitten by my dogs when they try to catch a ball at the same exact moment that I catch it.

  2. well i have 5 dogs so

sparkey-he only lays on my arm

    honey-bites my arms

dahliha-she will try to l**k me but will bite me

    gracey-scraches

    randy-scratches

    idk how much they weigh

  3. Yes my dog has done the same thing when she gets fearful at the vets. She is about 35lbs. It did hurt. I just try to be more careful when I'm in the vets with her so i don't get hurt. Good Luck

  4. My shih tzu, no other than the occassional scratch when he jumps up on my lap.

But regarding our old lab we had, when she stood on her hind legs, she was about as tall as me.  Granted I'm pretty short.  When we first got her, she was still pretty bad about jumping up on people.  I walked in the door one day, she jumped up to kiss me, knocked me backwards and I smacked my head on the door.  I had a pretty nice sized knot on the back of my head for a little while.  Thankfully, we got her trained quickly on not jumping up on people and things were fine after that.

    Oh, LEGIT:  18 lbs.

  5. When I was walking dogs I had a dog accidently knick my finger during a game of tug of war.  It left a mini scar on my thumb and bled a decent amount but I always look at it as a reminder of one of my favorite clients :)

  6. I think it's impossible to have your dog never accidentally do at least a little bodily harm to you, given that dogs love to play 'wolf games' and such.  We currently only have one dog, but up until January we had two dogs.  Because of that, the dog we have right now is used to having another dog to play 'wolf games' with, and since our other dog passed we try to play with our current more often.  So, when we play with her we'll often get a scratch or two, but we don't mind.  And our dog also loves kisses, and she can sometimes get a little rough and nibble our lips or nose.  But she always means the best...

As for your other question, our dog is healthy at about 60 lbs.  She is a Sheltie, which is a breed that is supposed to be around 15-20 lbs.  But our Sheltie (which we often guess isn't really a full Sheltie) is about three times as tall, long, and bulky as a typical Sheltie.

    Best wishes!

  7. I was just telling another posting friend.....one of our YA's long timers about how I've had pain under my chest for the past 5-6 weeks!!!...ribs/lungs area!   I got it from my Pilot!!  He was so excited one day...he jumped up and plowed his huge paw smack into my right breast!!  I didn't realize how hard it was until I started getting terrible pain deep inside and I actually thought I was getting breast cancer!!  It scared me and I had a lump in my stomach just thinking about it!!  I had an Xray done, saw TWO doctors, was checked over and over......went back to dr 3 times!!  They finally told me it was a muscular issue....and bruising!   I was living on Advil 200 to 400 mgms, 3 times a day!  I couldn't sleep from the pain!  I couldn't toss, turn, lift.....heck, even sitting hurt!

Pilot is a 90 pounder.............golden retriever, but he is the bigger male with big head, PAWS, body in great shape, long hair and super THICK....just BIG!!!

    I forgave him!   :oD

  8. When our old Golden (at the bridge) was a young pup, she lept up, and didn't put her paws out, but her canine tooth (lol, fang?) snagged my thigh, and then she went back down, and I had this huge ragged gash.  It was awful!  But it was an accident.

That IS a legit question?  So I'm confused... but part two...

Luke weighs 28 lbs, I'm not sure on Soph, but she's at the vet on Tuesday.

  9. Yeah and it stinks...one word: testicles - OUCH

  10. My 75 lb Rotti/Pit mix gets excited and kisses and sometimes his tooth will catch your lip.  Also the other day my 40 something pound pit puppy ran out to greet me, his tail smacked the back of my leg(behind the knee) and broke a blood vessel which caused a bruise the size of a baseball!

  11. I have a tiny puppy (I'm not sure how much she weighs but it's probably like a pound or two) and she's getting to where she'll get excited and want to bite or chew everything. It used to not hurt, but now she's developing her bite and it is getting to where it hurts.

  12. Just about every 5 minutes.  He's a Boxer and he boxes with his paws, which means he actually punches me in the belly and knocks the wind out of me all the time..... Einstein I am taught him to play so rough!!! (only with me at least)!! So yeah, he beats me up all the time though!!  Bailey weighs 80 pounds but I swear he could knock out Mike Tyson with his paws!!

EDIT:  Aww how is Molly anyway???????

  13. Yes!

My Border Collie was out in the backyard playing with me a few years back, and she just took off running. She hit the backs on my knees and I FLEW up into the air and landed on my butt. It hurt for weeks after that.

Penny has never "hurt" me, but she does walk all over me like I'm some kind of rug.

    Noah-28

    Penny-20

  14. Yep, more than once.

Weights, Max 100lbs, Bindi last weigh in 45lbs (she gets reweighed today) Pups 15-20lbs last week.

  15. My Dobe JJ has sent me flying twice by clipping the back of my legs. On both occasions he was playing chase with another dog in water logged grass and skidded into me.

  16. My siberian husky who is 8 months jumps on me when i come home and her nails are painful not to mention she bites my hand too and my 2 german shepherds get excited but know better than to jump on me.

  17. yeah, my border collie bit me a plenty of time

  18. My precious sweet innocent Lacie Belle gave me a brutal black eye that lasted 2 weeks! My husband refused to be seen with me...it looked like he'd been whoopin' my as$!

    My dogs are 82 & 70lbs :)

  19. my sister got a black eye twice from her dogs. once the dog was chasing a ball and the other time the dog just turned and hit her in the eye. weight about 100 lbs

  20. Only by scratching my legs (it hurts when you're in shorts!)

    She weighs between 25 & 30 pounds

  21. Yes, my dog has, many times! He is not well trained, unfortunately. He weighs about 65-80 pounds.  One time I was carrying his water dish to him for outside, because he gets thirsty out there sometimes, and while my other dog was patiently waiting for me to set it down, he attempted to jump up and drink it out of my hands, which knocked me over, (quite painfully, I might add) and spilled the water all over me.
