  1. Not really. My grammar has suffered as a direct result of chavs.

  2. If you didn't understand english before you entered this site and understand it better now...nope. I have actually learned more words here than anywhere else. I have also learned people have found ways around certain swear words just by adding 1 more letter and still the reader understands the word they meant!

  3. No, mine hasn't. I try to get others to change theirs though.

  4. not at all !!!

  5. I think there is a danger that peoples grammar is deteriorating due to texting and other short-hand type languages. However, the English language is a very fluid language and it is changing all the time.  If English as a language is to survive then it will need to keep up with popular language usage, even if the purists are horrified.

  6. No, but yours evidently has, check out the use of split infinitives, you should have said: 'suffered dramatically'

  7. I do not believe this is the case. I try to take special care when posting on this site as poor use of English may suggest inadequately informed and ill considered Answers.

  8. It hasn't my gran ma is still fine, thanks for asking, though my gran da is a bit under the weather

  9. nope it was shiet to start with!

  10. No, my grammer has not suffered from this site.

  11. I believe that my grammar hasn't suffered but I live in hope that the vocabulary, punctuation and spelling of other users may have improved!

I'm more a realist than an optimist but it is gratifying to note that poor grammar is usually challenged and corrected by the more informed users on this site.

Please continue to do this. I realise that constant change is an integral feature of any language but that does not mean that every change is worthwhile.

For example - the word 'thank' can never become 'thnk' (as used in text-speak) because we will always need to differentiate it from 'think'.
