My boyfriend and I were driving through a tunnel in downtown Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, when a trafficker and some cops had a huge, loud gun fight. Everything around us stopped and everyone got down really low- people were screaming. it was scary!!

I was in the departures terminal, waiting to board a flight to Bangkok, when terrorists from the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE)attacked the Katunayake International Airport in Colombo, Sri Lanka. We could hear the gunfight between these terrorists and soldiers and loud explosions. The attack occured on July 24,2001. That was the scariest situation I've had while traveling abroad.
