Has your team lived up to their expectations? Yes or no?

My team lived up to my expectations. Play decent baseball most of the year, act like thinks will be different then its the same old movie Texas fans have seen before- they give up. They had improved from last year but after getting the living daylights beaten out of them on this last road trip I think they've given up for the year. So has your team lived up to their expectations? Have they been better or worse?

  1. I didn't expect the Angels to be this dominant.  Saunders and Santana are having the season that I thought Weaver and Escobar would have.

The pitching totally carried this team from April to June.  Now the offense has been carrying the club as the dog days set in and the staff hits its slump.

I was expecting to be neck and neck but just slightly ahead of Seattle.  All these so called experts loved Seattle at the start of the season.

  2. I don't think we had any but we're in last place. (Nationals) Their very first season was the best and they actually almost made the playoffs.

  3. Im a Twins fan and yes I think they easily passed their expectations. In the pre-season every expert thought they would finish towards the bottom of the division and now they're in the pennat race

  4. yankees- and i don't even want to talk about it

Pirates- yes, we expected a sub 500 season and they never disappoint.

  5. Been a Reds fan since '56, and, unless my expectations for the team this year was "Stink on Ice!", no, they haven't...

  6. Hey rangers fan! how are ya ;)

I sure as heck think that Texas is a mighty powerful team ^^ I feel like they're going to give the angels a run for their money in a couple of years!

Angels have been a pretty consistent team and they've gone beyond.. so i'm alright.

  7. Exceeded. In no way did I think the Cardinals were going to be 10+ games over .500 at this point of the season. I thought they were going to be 10-20 games under.

  8. no! the dbacks may be in first place but their record is terrible. i dont even know if i want them to make the playoffs if they will just make fools of themselves

  9. Hey!

The Lakers reached the Finals last season...so YESH! Haha! Joking. I know you're talking about baseball. I'd say yes anyway, the Texas Rangers are playing so good in my opinion.

    Thanks

    Eddie!

  10. The Yankees -  No , they are no were close were i expected them to be at , its disappointing

  11. Heck no!!! I and everyone else in Braves country had HIGH hopes for this season, jsut didnt happen.

And Ken Rosenthal picked us to win the World Series in Spring Training, ha, some genius he is.

  12. My team has exceeded mine, I was worried about our pitching staff, Lackey was out, Escobar is till out, Santana was coming off a 7-14 season, and Weaver and Saunders were still developing, but it turned out that our staff became the best in baseball and won us a ridiculous amount of games, especially with the development of Jose Arredondo, who has a .96 ERA thru 35 games. Then of course there is K-Rod who is going to break the single-season saves record.

  13. I'm a Yankees fan. So the answer is pretty self explanatory .

  14. Absolutely not.  The Phillies are definately not playing as well as they could or should be.

  15. Yes!

  16. As a Ranger fan, I didnt expected us to be above.500 and Our best player would be Josh Hamilton. So they certainly passed my expectations.

Coming into the season, i felt Young and Kinsler were gonna be the Allstars. I kinda thought Bradley would be a a 16-20 HR guy and that Hamilton will be battling marlon Byrd for the starting Job for CF.

I can promise you I would've never expected

Hamilton,Bradley,Murphy and Davis to be one of the best hitters on our team. I didnt even kno a guy named Chris Davis exist.

Not to mention, we have a 10+ game winner!!!

So i think they surpassed my expectations by a long shot.

  17. Dodgers: Nope too many injuries, besides Ramirez now I don't see any sluggers!

  18. oh yeah mets are 10 games over .500. they're owning everyone!

  19. Worse. I thought the Reds would finish third in the NL Central. Nope. They're 21.5 games back. In the cellar. But the Reds are finally doing moving players around.

  20. Yankees. And no, it's been a disappointing season.

  21. My team went over my expectations.

The Chicago White Sox, I thought, were going to be in 3rd place because all they got in the off season was O C and Dirty Thirty and they needed pitching, so they brought 2 rookies up to help there weakest department, and they traded Jon Garland, I thought we were doomed for last 3rd- place, especially after those games in the first month where everyone batted under 280, but when they got in first, they exceeded my expectations.

  22. I'd say the Cubs are playing above expectations. I had no idea that they would do as good as they have.

  23. Heck no! Not at all! They been a major disappointment this year.

  24. the brewers passed that when they got sabathia =)

  25. Yup they have. Actually, they have surpassed my expectations. I did not expect the starting rotation to be this deadly.

  26. I think you know my answer on this one, rangers fan!

Of course the Rangers lived up to my expectations!  I knew that Josh was gonna be good, but not this good.  Ian's having his best season yet.  Michael is consistent as ever.  Who knew Milton Bradley could be such an asset to this club?  And both Murphy and Chris Davis have been pleasant rookie surprises.

The pitching sucks, as usual, but hey.  I was totally expecting that, so no surprise there.

All in all, I think the Rangers have exceeded my expectations, and I can honestly say that I have had more fun watching this Rangers team than I've ever had watching any baseball team, ever.

As for the Orioles... To put it simply, I knew they would suck.  I mean, give up the ace pitcher and All-Star shortstop for ten untested minor-leaguers, and that's what you get.

Admittedly, I know we're rebuilding, and I feel like Andy Macphail is doing things right, but it's still extremely frustrating.

I mean, the O's pitching has been nearly as inconsistent as the Rangers, and the offense isn't half as impressive.  The defense is decent, but we've had 8 different starting shortstops this year.  8!  I find that slightly ironic, because 8 was the number of one of the greatest shortstops of all time (Cal Ripken Jr.).

  27. Cleveland Indians - They have done much worse than expected and basically gave up on this season and next season by trading away everyone :(

  28. My rangers are ABOVE expectations

  29. Oh yes, definitely. We're closing in on the division and we're up in the Wild Card, so I'm happy. I just wish we could play better on the road.

PS, sorry we scored 37 runs in 2 games against you guys =)

  30. Yes and no.  I'm a Diamondbacks fan, and their starting rotation has been great- especially Webb and Haren, but Randy Johnson and Yusmiero Petit have been surprisingly good too.  On the other hand, their offense has been really disappointing since the end of April, and their defense has been terrible at times.  Some of the players I expected to do well- Upton, Byrnes, Young- just haven't come through at the plate, and there have been some injuries, too.  I'm disappointed, because they should be doing better.  But if they can get to the playoffs, that'll be great.

  31. The Cubs are over there expectations
