i think mine was wrong... she made a lot of mistakes.

she said she thinks im only 4 weeks, BUT we saw the heart beating which is pretty much impossible at only 4 weeks, and i compared my ultrasound pix with other womens and is looks MUCH more like 5 weeks.

here is a photo.

  1. There won't be that big of a difference in 4 weeks and 5 weeks. It's possible you might be somewhere in the middle. The heart starts beating at 18 days, so it is possible to see that at the 4 week ultrasound. Usually the earlier the ultrasound the better they are about judging due dates and conceptions dates.

  2. when i was pregnant with my son I had no idea when my last missed period was.  So the due date was set strictly by an early ultrasound which was suppose to be extremely accurate (like within 3 days).  Well my due date was November 14.  I had my son on Nov. 7th.  But when the pediatrician came in, he said my son was at least 2 weeks over due.  So that made my Due Date at least 3 weeks off.

So yes, it is very possible for the u/s to be off in my opion.

i am also 11weeks pregnant now according to my ultra sound.  But according to my last missed period- I calculate that I am 14 weeks.  Which is strange because that would make them 3 weeks off again.  I don't know.  I guess your baby will come when hes ready?

  3. I am 15 weeks pregant and i found out when i was 4 weeks and they could not even see it in the ultra sound and thought it was in my tubes sooo yes its very possible she was wrong bercause now I am 15 weeks and everything is fine.. and i dont think you can see the heart beat at 4 weeks good luck

  4. The tech doesn't calculate it - the machine does, based on the measurements of the sac and embryo/fetus. So it wouldn't be her calculations that were off, it would be the machine's. Go by whatever date your doctor gives you. If he thinks the tech was wrong he won't change the date to the one the scan came up with.
