Hashim Amla finds Australian sledging amusing - Cricket News Update
The Australian side is renowned for employing sledging as a means to provoke batsmen into playing rash strokes. However, The Mr. Consistent for the Proteas, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/HM-Amla-c1557, finds their strategy amusing at best.
The first Test, which was played between both teams at the Gabba, resulted in a draw. The kangaroos declared with a 115-run lead, showing great aggression to lock the game on the final day.
The home team attacked the South African batting with all that they had, in the most entertaining portion of the contest, on the final day. Speaking about the on-field aggression, Amla said, "I actually found it quite humorous. Obviously the guys were a bit pumped up thinking I had nicked the ball. I guess it is a bit funny when guys get emotional when there is no real need to."
"But it's part of the game. I found it quite funny and just enjoyed the moment. It was a nice patch of play for cricket," he added further.
Earlier, an allegedly leaked Australian plan dossier, revealed by News Ltd, Newspaper http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Thomas-George-Burrows-c93472ag5# with verbal assaults.
However, it wasn’t only Amla who faced the music on the field. http://www.senore.com/Cricket/James-Pattinson-c1653.
"There was a lot of noise out there but I couldn't really make out what was being said, It was the same as any other game," http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Smith-c90598 shared.
Nevertheless, sledging has been a common tactic used by the Aussies, and would not have surprised the touring Proteas. The South Africans however, lost 5 wickets to a low total of 166 on the final day. Were it not for a washed-out 2nd day, a favourable result for the Aussies was not too improbable.
