Hashim Amla selected in Twenty20 squad against India
The stylish South African batsman Hashim Amla has been named in the Twenty20 squad against India. The match will also mark the last appearance of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Makhaya-Ntini-c73953. Amla has replaced Loots Bosman in the squad.
A number of key players have been rested from the Twenty20 squad. Jacques Kallis, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Morne-Morkel-c77722 will not be a part of the team considering the workload they have had in the recent past.
Andrew Hudson, who is part of the selection panel, said, “We have decided to rest Kallis, Steyn and Morkel because of the heavy workload they have had in the Test series, and the important roles they will have to play in the ODI series against India, as
well as in the World Cup.”
South Africa will only play one Twenty20 against India, and this will be only the third Twenty20 appearance for Amla. His prolific form in the ODIs has earned him a spot in the squad. Amla has featured in 15 ODIs in 2010 and has scored at an average of 75.57.
He has scored five centuries and four half centuries this year. The last time he played a Twenty20 was against Australia last year.
Ntini meanwhile has not played for http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757 since 2009. The last match he played was against England on Boxing Day. He announced his retirement from cricket in November this year. The match will be played on 9 January at the Moses Mabhida Stadium. South
Africa and India are currently playing a Test series, which is leveled at one-all.

be touring England, the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 after the World Cup and all these series will be crucial for the Indian team. They will have to do well to retain the number one spot in Tests.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 is also considered among the favourites for the 2011 World Cup as they have a strong batting line-up. Their batsmen like to play in the subcontinent, and they have a very good record on flat pitches where the ball is not doing much.
