Experienced top order batsman of South Africa, Hashim Amla has withdrawn from the third and final One Day International of the home series against New Zealand due to a quad strain.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Hamisi-Abdallah-c61368, 29, had last week picked up the quad-muscle strain and had missed the second ODI against the Kiwis in Kimberly as well. South Africa lost that match by 27 runs, conceding the series.
While speaking to media reporters on Wednesday, South Africa’s team manager Mohammad Moosajee said that the decision to rest Amla for the third ODI has been taken to give the experienced top order batsman ample time to return to full
fitness ahead of the crucial home Test series against Pakistan.
"Hashim has been withdrawn from the last ODI because we felt it would be a 50-50 call with his quad strain going into the match and we didn't want to risk him with the Test match against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 less than a week away," Moosajee told Supersport.

"http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mahbubul-Alam-c73802 split the webbing of the last digit of his right hand while trying to field a ball off his own bowling in the eighth over of his spell," the Proteas team manager shared. "He needed stitches, and will not be able to take part
in the final game," Moosajee went on to add.
South Africa have already lost the three-match series, after having lost the first two games by one wicket and 27 runs respectively.
