Hashimoto Yui trounces Shizuka Uchida in Women’s Singles title match – Russia Open Update
Japan’s talented shuttler Hashimoto Yui raised her country’s flag in Russia Open Grand Prix tournament after beating Shizuka Uchida in the final match on Sunday, July 1, 2012.
This straight-set match kept both shuttlers head-to-head for 37 minutes before ending with final result of 21-19 and 21-12.
Women’s Singles expert Hashimoto played flawless badminton and outclassed the opposing shuttler in all areas of game.
Her strategy was so effective that her compatriot shuttler Shizuka did not get many chances to step forward in both sets.
The opening game set overall mood of the match as both finalists played with great conviction and made this segment a very competitive contest.
In first half, none of them could enjoy a permanent lead and gave each other a tough time all the way to mid-game break.
Hashimoto Yui dominated first four rallies but she could not go with the same flow and lost a few vital points before 6-6 total.
Though, she reinstated her grip with couple of continuous points but she blundered again just before half time and went down with 10-11.
After the interval, Shizuka picked up the pace and reached at authoritative position of 16-12 but then the opposing shuttler put her expedition to halt with a strong backlash.
The spirited Japanese girl Hashimoto Yui displayed commendable fighting spirit and snatched five consecutive points to bring the match to the right balance with 17-16.
She exhibited superior finishing skills and wrapped first segment of the show with a tight yet decisive margin of 21-19.
Next game completely belonged to her as she finished this race with a notable difference of nine points in concluding figure.
Though, Shizuka Uchida gained an early advantage but she could not capitalise this lead and knelt down in a disgraceful manner.
She was enjoying four-point advantage until 6-2 but then couple of fatal mistakes triggered the collapse.
Hashimoto did not miss this opportunity and made swift progress to a mountainous total of 11-7 before half time.
She did not give her competitor even a single counter-attack opportunity and locked the honour by registering 21-12 score on the board.
