Haslem is dropped from Miami Heat due to left foot muscle injury
Udonis Haslem of Miami Heat, is going through some serious situation for consecutively two days, and was hoping for a, miracle, in his reports. But the report appeared positive and now, one of the best players of Miami is out, for an indefinite period and his recovery from the injury might take many months.
Haslem went through a surgery on Tuesday, to get recovery from his left foot muscle injury that was poorly torn on, Saturday night’s game. At first look, the injury didn’t seem harmful but later the scenario was quite different. Haslem was ranked 19th in rebounding on Monday but now the team will play without its best scorer. Absence of Haslem will create a vivid space in his department of the game. Erik Spoelstra, the coach of the Miami Heat side was rather desperate and said that we lost our warrior. Spoelstra said that we need to work on Juwan Howard and Chris Bosh, for the upcoming contests. He added,
“We all know there is no replacement of Haslem, the reason why we are also looking towards our other key players James Jones and LeBron James; who will be used at similar position in different conditions.
The Miami Heat management and particularly Spoelstra, knew well, that for how long they will have to play without Haslem. Thus, he refused to debate on a best-case situation. Haslem’s injury placed him on the Heats bench, just before their match against the Indian Pacers, on Monday.
Point guard Carlos Arroyo stated his suggestion as well and said that his toughness in the game had made the Miami proud of him, so it is going to be hard to get a replacement of him. A tough guy like Haslem always performed something outstanding each night and now, the entire side will have to work on rebounding, charges and loose balls, to make the team ready for giving, tough time, to the rivals in upcoming matches.
Miami team members considered him an excellent scorer and a wonderful team player. Haslem’s significance for the Miami team is due to his leadership role, just like an honourable captain. Spoelstra alleged that the role of Haslem, as a captain and leader of the Miami basketball team, will remain the same. It is to be noted that Haslem’s contract with Miami, couldn’t seem alive and he might look for another deal, during off season. Bosh, Wade and James decided to take less money, which in-fact assisted Miami to make a deal of $20 million with Haslem for the next five years.
Unfortunately, Haslem’s mother died of cancer, after his new contract with Miami Heats and the death of his mother is considered as an additional injury for Haslem, which will take time to recover. James has been suffering from injury and his shin problem kept him out, for the last few weeks. On the other side, Miller, suffering from muscle injury and a broken thumb, will hopefully come back after Christmas. He said,
“Haslem is the heart and soul of the Miami team and with a bit of luck we shall see him at least sitting on the Miami bench soon. Haslem is standing at the top position in rebounds with 8.2 figures amongst all NBA reserves whereas Antonio McDyess stood second with 6.6 per game.” Guys need to bring real change in the team’s developments and rebounding numbers particularly. If Miami management openly looks for someone outside its list then Erick Dampier would be a perfect choice, who before now played with Miami Heat.”
