Hasopop wants to complete hat-trick at Sandown
It is hoped that the extensive training of the last one and a half month will pay the Marco Botti trained bay colt, Hasopop, off when he runs in the Candy Kittens Solario Stakes (Group 3) at Sandown for the sake of completing his maiden hat-trick that is
due after his two consecutive triumphs of July.
The two-year-old novice runner is supposed to show his credentials on the good track of 7 furlongs and 16 yards. In the battle for £20,983, he will compete against half a dozen rivals.
Since winning the Rossdales E B F Conditions Stakes on July 14, the young colt has been in school, going trough constant training sessions. The exhaustive work-out of almost six weeks might have improved his stamina greatly.
Now, the son of Haatef out of Convenience will land at Sandown with sheer confidence and high spirit. This is going to be his first ever outing at this venue and the race conditions are too totally new to him.
The Giuliano Manfredini owned colt started his career in May 2012. After finishing as the runner-up in Yorkshire Radio Supporting Yorkshire Racing Maiden Stakes on June 8, he marvellously broke his maiden with the title of British Stallion Studs/BHEST E
B F Maiden Stakes that was held on July 5.
Deriving immense momentum from that victory, he moved on to stand first in the Rossdales E B F Conditions Stakes, held at Newmarket. Interestingly, the skilled sprinter defeated his hot favourite rivals in both of these races.
In today’s marathon, Hasopop will have to dominate Tha'Ir early in order to thrive. The legendary trainer Saeed Bin Suroor’s bay colt superbly won British Stallion Studs Supporting British Racing E B F Maiden Stakes at Ripon and Chesham Stakes (Listed Race)
at Ascot under the star jockey Frankie Dettori. Both the races took place in June 2012.
The Godolphin owned maverick colt is going to run today right after one month as he has been in school since finishing 4th in the Veuve Clicquot Vintage Stakes (Group 2).
Thus, a neck-to-neck clash is expected between these two mighty colts. Let us see how Hasopop manoeuvres success to his favour.
