  1. Typhoons, Hurricanes and tornadoes are all cyclones as are large low pressures patterns that occur between 30-60 degrees north latitude.

    Hurricanes - Atlantic based systems

    Typhoons -  occur in the Pacific (ex: Japan, Philippines)

    The difference is scale,   low pressure areas and tornadoes can occur anywhere in the world but are much smaller than the big tropical storms.
