Hate to sound stupid, but I live in California and have a Magellan GPS. Will that work in Ireland?

  3. Is it a handheld? It will work, but check the instructions, you may have to tell the GPS that you are thousands of miles from home in order for it to lock in on satellites. It depends on the model. Some of them you don't have to tell it, but it will need extra time the first time you turn it on over there.

    You may however not be able to navigate with it because the street maps for Ireland will probably not be installed on the GPS.
