Hather Siobs pulls off victory in the William Hill Puppy at Sunderland
Hather Siobs, a black b***h trained by E. Bell, architected a mammoth upset on January 21 at Sunderland racing track, when she won the William Hill Puppy Open Race of 450m category by beating the most favourite hound of the event, Coolgarrife Star,
along with four other opponents, Ballymac Jones, Rooneys Twitter, Anfi Belle and Anfi Bandit.
It was a mind-boggling upset indeed, as Hather Siobs achieved an unbelievable triumph in such a crucial competition.
Just a few seconds before the start of the race, none of the bookies could even imagine that a novice hound would defeat her experienced competitors so easily and walk away with a glorious victory.
However, the daughter of Culmore Gift made it possible. Hather Siobs broke from trap 6 when the race started at 18:49. Right from the outset, she jumped into the lead, outstripping all her opponents.
Though with a short margin, she beautifully sustained her lead throughout the time. Some of her rivals tried to undo her lead, but she dashed their designs into dust.
Finally, Hather Siobs set the track ablaze by reaching the finish line in 27.49 seconds.
It was for the third time as a whole and the second time in a row that the b***h clinched this position in her short career which began on November 11, 2011.
Whelped in March 2010, the brilliant racer possesses excellent skills which are likely to earn her a number of iconic wins in the future. The winner bagged the cash prize of £150.
Ballymac Jones was the hound to finish second in the race. After breaking from trap 4, the brindle b***h was in driving seat during the initial few seconds of the race, but failed to sustain her momentum and lagged behind.
The daughter of Ballymac Vicky reached the finish line in 27.58 seconds with a difference of one length of the winner.
It was just her second race, starting her career on January 14, 2012, at the same track. Whelped in June 2010, she is trained by C. A. Evans.
The third position in the race was achieved by Rooneys Twitter, who took 27.77 seconds to complete the distance of 450 meters.
Breaking from trap 3, she trailed by 2 ¼ lengths. The rookie b***h is trained by E. T. Parker. Whelped in March 2010, she made her debut on October 7, 2011.
Overall, it was a fabulous event with a lot of thrill, that the local spectators enjoyed to their fill.
