If you're going to hate a person what is it that you base your hatred on?

Is it the way a person looks, how they act, or is it nothing specific at all?

  1. sometimes traits that you yourself have, that you dont like. And when you see it in others you generate your hate towards them instead of at yourself.

  2. I don't hate anyone. If anything I may dislike someone, but that is more about disliking their actions or how they handle something or how they treat others. I honestly believe that there is something redeeming in everyone.

  3. Bad experiences with them.

  4. (Pain)..or something that references to past pains...

  5. I don't. Hate is an emotion like love. Both come from the heart, so why would I want some one I hate in my heart along side someone I love. Anger is the fire that only burns the angry.

  6. by how they treat me. if u treat me like c**p im gonna treat u like c**p and hate chu. so if u dont p**s me off ur not on my list ^^

  7. I try not to hate anyone, but I still totally hold a grudge against this girl that I've had since Jr. High...I think she has a grudge against me too, though...we've mostly moved on with our lives now that we're grown-ups, but I still find myself wishing bad things on her sometimes...d**n me and my rampant cattiness...

  8. it depends on the person you are. materialistic people would hate you because you look better, worse, or different from them. logically, I think it's for the way people act. I try really hard to not hate, but I get feelings of 'dislike' when someone is an idiot( liars, cheaters, abusers, s***s, ect.).

  9. If they are arrogant../pompous

    if they lie too much

    if they hate me..

    if they are a bit*h

  10. i would say a negative trait(s) that have caused you severe emotional/mental pain.

for example, i dated huge assholess who cheated on me, lied to me, abused me and embarressed me. i hate them. i literally hate them to a point of disgust because they turned my world upside down and made me lose all of my self respect, self esteem and made me feel vulnerable, used and worthless. so eventually, i hate these "traits" in people... liars, cheaters, abusers...

  11. There are a few people on this planet that I actually hate, and that's because they've caused me a great deal of pain. It was unnecessary, selfish, and to this day they have no remorse for their actions.

The easiest way to get me to hate, is to betray my trust, and never admit your wrong doing. After that, I'm through with a person.

  12. I don't hate anyone; people definitely get on my nerves from time to time, but I don't think anyone should hate another person. I'm not judging you, because I think this is an excellent question ... just throwing that out there. =)

  13. I hate anyone who hurts my pets with a PASSION, I hate the person who sexually molested my son ..other than that..I don't really hate anyone unless: they want to be an azz to me.. I have a neighbor who I have been NOTHING but nice to and she acts like she's God..she treats me like I am a piece of garbage.. so I hate her. I can get along with anyone..but if you start being an a*****e to me or causing trouble for me or you hurt someone I love...you better watch out.

  14. Lack of respect.  There are all sorts of different people I can get along with.  Some are fat some are skinny.  Some tall, some short.  Some black ,some white.  There are great people of every race, every religion, every physical separation or difference.

Sometimes I have found certain groups of people that make me angry- not because of how they look, but how they treat other people.  When one person treats you with disrespect, sure you are angry, but you do not hate them.  You cannot judge an entire race or religion on the actions of one person, because as I stated previously, there are great people in every group of people.

Even when someone treats me with disrespect, I have no right to judge them.  I do not know all their problems.  I do not know what kind of day they are experiencing, or what kinds of pressures/stresses burden their lives.  I'm sure in many circumstances I, too, unintentionally can be disrespectful to another, pending the circumstances.

I believe that if people try to be respectful towards one another, overlooking those who express disrespect and wish them peace in their lives and struggles, the world would be a much better place.
