I m British & have been rooting for our boys. However it does look to me like they both suffered with stage fright a bit. As they both just seemed to chase the Americans around the ring whilst getting the faces punched in. Do you think nerves could get to joe also i m hoping not. Also do you think i m just making excuses & sadly ours boys were outclassed which could also happen to Joe just a thought your opinions pls

  1. And every boxer from Enzo Calazaghe's stable has lost their last fight - Macerenelli, Rees...

Calazaghe may have been "champion" for 10 years but he only just fought Kessler to get the titles that matter, the WBC and WBA. Why wait 10 years if you're confident?

Bernard Hopkins on the other hand has fought at the highest level possible, including all of the current and recent greats. There is no comparison in the level of competition the two have fought. If BHop has anything of his former level of ability left he will well and truly school Calazaghe.

  2. Hatton should never have fought at 147. He is still undefeated in his weight class. You also forgot to mention David Haye winning. Are you REALLY British? Calzaghe should beat Hopkins pretty easily.

  3. JOE CALZAGHE SUCKS!

BTW, if Joe wins all he done is beat another old (43) fighter pasted his prime! If B-Hop was in the shape he was  v.s. Tito, Joe wold get crushed!

  4. Wow, I thought Hatton fans were blind.

Let me get this straight...Joe Calzaghe has been champion for ten years and been with the best? Ill give you half of that is true.

You are really, at any point, going to compare pedigrees between fighters? If you actually did, you would seriously be concerned for Joe Calzaghe. Calzaghe has had NO serious competition to speak of. PLEASE stop name dropping Jeff Lacy like he is an elite boxer, he is a club fighter at best.

    Lets compare pedigrees, shall we?

Best of Bernards history: Antonio Tarver, Howard Eastman (beast from the East), Roy Jones, Felix Trinidad, Winky Wright, Oscar DeLaHoya...top ranked champions William Joppy and Keith Holmes, Antwun Echols...Glen Johnson (who he KOd), Jermain Taylor....

Best of Joes history:Chris Eubanks, Jeff Lacy, and Mikkel Kessler.

On pedigrees alone, Joe is in deep s**t!!!!!

  5. joe has been a champ now for over 10 years he has been in with the best and beat the best anywhere he goes law of avarages says he will lose ;i hope he stays on top and retires unbeat

  6. It'll be a tough fight for him - no doubt about that.  What he can't afford to do is injury his weak hand - hes a little prone to fracturing it, so as long as he keeps fit in the fight, I think he'll do all right.  He's got to work on his stamina also, not that he hasn't got it, just that he is another year older and these things get tougher and tougher.

Whatever my pre-fight thoughts are, one things for sure, I'm right behind him - GO JO!

  7. Woods has never been in the class of Calzaghe or Hatton.

Hatton just fought the best fighter in the world.  No shame in losing to Floyd.

Calzaghe should represent himself fine.  Hopkins is a great fighter but so is Calzaghe.  Should be pretty even in my estimate.

  8. Hatton had a dodgy ref but was never that good at 10st 7 anyway, not compared to a class fighter like Mayweather. Clinton Woods is just a decent fighter who has always been found out at the very top level. Joe, however, is a totally different class. I love all the people who say he will lose - see you all in a few days guys, i'll be back for a Red White and Blue Union Jack sized gloat!

  9. calzaghe...

    14 years unbeaten pro record

    boxing masterclass against jeff lacy

nerves?  i really dont think so

  10. yeah i got that gut feeling to,,it dont seem to be going all that well for at the enzo gym,,im still gonna put 50 quid on calzaghe to win coz ive been a fan of his since he started and really want him to do this,,

  11. I have to admit that it is a bit worrying as Team Calzaghe have not won this year, but lets hope for the best and look forward to a classic.
