  1. YES!

Diesel is about 20% cheaper in France because the UK imposes much higher taxes on it than they do in France.

In France they recognise that diesel is an essential resource as its cost directly impinges on almost every other product in the marketplace.

In Britain our politicians see it as a cash cow for the government to milk.

  2. They are a selfish bunch.  'Stuff the environment, we want our fat profits.'   Take the bulk of their freight and put it on rail

  3. No - it's all down to the hauliers themsleves. They should adjust their haulage prices to their customer like any other business does with the cost of raw materials price increases.

They should not be allowed to cause deliberate gridlock, and prevent other people earn their living to support their families.

They are demanding a 25pence per litre rebate for themselves. That will have to be paid for by ordinary taxpayers like you and me, who also have to pay the high fuel cost ourselves, without having to subsidse the hauliers.

  4. Gordon Brown is doing his best for unemployment, but could someone tell him that it is a decrease that's wanted not an increase.  Does he need a "Dictionary" to identify these new strange words he has difficulty with?

  5. I blame Gordon Brown for all this trouble! He has taxed us right up to the hilt and now has no space to manoeuvre!I have often wondered how our hauliers compete with other EU countries with their lower fuel bills??!Down with Brown!!
