Is it like a ride or will you have to walk around?

Well its a little of both...I do not want to spoil the experience...but you walk in the beginning of the attraction and then you ride in a doombuggy for the rest of the attraction...its not very scary but if some children are afraid of loud noises then its not for them

HM is a dark ride consisting of two stages: the pedestrian area where guest enter (walk through) the attraction into an elevator and short queue to the second stage. The second stage is the "doom-buggy" which transports you through the remainder of the attraction.

The Haunted Mansion is a dark-ride in which you sit in a "doombuggy" and tour the mansion and it's grounds.  And be careful of hitchhiking ghosts on your way out... :o)

On the actual ride it is a slow moving buggy which also spins slowly to show you different sides of the ride.
