Question:

Haut de la Garenne, care home from h**l, when are Social Services going to realise?

That forcibly taking children away from often loving, but struggling families is cruel, barbaric and WRONG?

Here we have a situation where children as young as five who had been taken from their family homes (because some sanctimonious social worker beleived their parents to be "not up to the job") were being raped and murdered in a so-called "care" home by their "carers".

A child's skull has been discovered under one of the floors, police and continuing investigations believing they will find more bodies, and tales are coming forward of children hanging themselves after being raped by their carers.

When the h**l will social services just leave alone? For every one or two kids who is in REAL danger from their family, god knows how many are taken needlessly and subjected to "care" such as these poor little mites got in this horrific "care" home.

(Although I guess they have to meet their Government adoption targets somehow . . .)

  1. Why blame Social Services? Your statement also includes many sweeping comments not based on facts.

  2. This case is so sad - my heart goes out to the children involved and the h**l they have been through.  So many victims are coming forward now finally for their voices to be heard.  Let's hope they are listened to so justice can be done.  My only concern is that Jersey is such a small place - it really is tiny and has the population of somewhere like Grimsby, that I wonder if there will be any cover ups.  I really feel that there should be an independent enquiry by the policy in mainland Britain. How could this have happended to so many people in such a small place without the authorities knowing.  I think that there has been a cover up for years.

  3. they take the kids that are OK but the ones that are in real danger they miss look at the children that have been killed by them not doing their job right

  4. I was put in a care home in Oxforshire, after both my parents died. They said years later, that my Gran and Grandad were not fit to look after me. Yet they did a very good job on my 4 bringing up my uncles. I sued the fatherless persons, and got £23,000. That works out about £2000 per year, pathetic.

  5. This is an extremely sad and serious matter.

That apart, I wonder how you felt at the time that Social Workers were being criticised about their involvement in the Victoria Climbie case and others, where children who had been left to the care of their families died?

Social Workers do an extremely difficult job and are underpaid, vilified and overworked. Please remember that only a very small number of them abuse either their position or the children in their care.

  6. Given that the home closed down TWENTY-ONE YEARS ago,

I think that you should review TODAY's standards, not those of a generation ago.

  7. The dead children keep coming back to remind us

that instutionalised care is a dickensian system geared

for abusers and not for the protection of children.

    how many roads ?

  8. Very good this question, and the answer that went with it. Social Services in this Country have made some terrible blunders and each time it happens we get the same answer...we will do better and re train people...what a load of piffle ! If they had the correct people at the top of this service who make the biggest blunders, we would not get these awful stories in the Press.I do not know how Women could do these things to children, and lets be honest there are more women involved than men. Its time we looked at this Country and put things right before we get this happening over here.

  9. After reading ALL the comments, it appears that a few Social service bods are on here. Be careful what you put here, they will put you away and you wont be seen again. OOOPS, just thought, they cant, we aren't defenceless children are we? I am 57 years old and in ALL my years, I have never heard any good about them. I know a friend that was taken on with NO qualifications and he is a bit of a toe rag. Was in a home in the 60s and I would say that 60% of any of the SS people, where a pure waste of time. "SS" actually suits them, doesnt it?

  10. So very sad,how those children must have suffered

  11. I agree with u some Social Workers are not really up to the job and the system does fail, but I lay the blame at all of us for not being vigilant enough and believing the lot of c**p we are fed from the Authorities!

However, there are a lot of good Social Workers out there and some children have been saved from terrible lives. So I think we have to balance the point of view.

Whatever has happened in Jersey is now coming into the light. What a terrible story we are going to hear about.

  12. It's Jersey, don't lump them in the same boat as the rest of the UK. People on islands that size, or any isolated community for that matter, are usually mutants.

  13. Bear in mind that parents are much more likely to be the culprits. Not here though.

The stuff they're coming out with on this place just makes me so sad.

  14. Well said.

  15. Sad...sad world. I'm surprised they were allowed to get away with it for so long!
