Havana Gold expected to be dominant in Weatherbys Bloodstock Insurance Stonehenge Stakes
Only five runners have been attracted towards the Weatherbys Bloodstock Insurance Stonehenge Stakes (Listed Race) at Salisbury in England on Friday, August 31, 2012. Havana Gold will be the one to beat in the all important class-1 event, which is scheduled
to start at 18:35 GMT.
Although, there are some good runners lined up to fight for a cash prize of £13,043, they will find it extremely hard to overcome someone like Havana Gold, who has been rated as the outright favourite to succeed in the 1 mile event. He will enter the race
with a starting price of 5 to 6, which clearly shows what the bookies expect from him.
The talented runner might be challenged by the soft ground at Salisbury, but he is fully capable of coping up with such a situation. He does not have a lot of experience, but that is the case with all his opponents. The punters should risk the maximum number
of bets in his favour, as they will have a chance of winning some easy money at the end of the day.
They might be encouraged to place a few bets in favour of Timoneer as well. He is an impressive runner and has secured one victory out of the two races he has appeared in until now.
However, the young runner can only succeed in case anything unfortunate happens to Havana Gold, who will not allow others to come anywhere closer in the race. He has got great speed and his stamina is also not bad at all.
The two-year-old colt has participated in three races so far and his performances in them have been exceptional. He debuted in June 2012 and was competitive right from the start of his career. Despite not being rated as the favourite to win back then, he
took the top spot comfortably.
Due to this, the Richard Hannon’s trainee was given the best odds for victory in his very next race and he lived up to the expectations of the bookies, by storming to the top once again. He could have completed a hat-trick of victories, but his rider fell
in his most recent outing, which was extremely unlucky for him.
However, that is unlikely to happen today, as he will be partnered by veteran jockey, Richard Hughes, who has been in good form this year.
