Have 2003 durango 4.7L seems to run hot mid point on guage, how do you tell if clutch fan is slipping?

Spin the fan with your hand briskly,it shouldent spin a full revolutoin. h**l its hot outside it will run alittle warmer in the summer months. Factory gauges run consistant not acurate!!!

well pull the fan to engine rotation if it turns like a regular air fan ur clutch is bad theres got to be some resistance to it noting that the clutch still has tension to rotate at half the speed of enginr so when it get hot it catches up with the engine if its loose it just spins at way below
