Have 3 phones in house. INC calls it rings 1-2times, then goes busy. When they call back, rings normal? Idea?

One of the phones is hooked through the same outlet as DSL line...however, I have had this set up for years

have you got anything other than phones plugged in to the socket ie a fax? this would cause the problem
