Question:

Have American voters been so “jaded” by the 2 political parties, that we can’t trust any other “parties”?

It seems to me that the average American voter has been choosing the lesser of two evils for a long, long time. There are and have been, many attempts by other “parties” to break the spell, but not even the “Libertarian Party” has been able to crack the shell the Democratic and Republican parties have formed to protect themselves.

Are we so jaded that we think; “Nothing will ever ‘really’ change” and gave up trying?

  1. Pretty much.  That's the only reason I vote for either of the parties.  If I had it my way I wouldn't vote for either.  But if I vote 3rd party, I might as well not be voting.

  2. Most are not taken seriously, mostly because most don't have enough votes to make a difference?? If that makes sense. I see your point, but the other parties need a bigger voice..

  3. Absolutely.

  4. Yes, of course.

  5. I totally see where you are coming from, but the last two elections had Bush on the ticket.  I felt that there was no way this guy can get elected to a second term and wasn't old enough to vote the first time he was.

When it comes to state officials, I take a look harder than I would our leader.

  6. This would be the best year to break through these parties. If Hillary would run with Nader on an independent ticket they could beat Obama and McCain.

  7. The wrong way has become politics as usual. Scheming pays more that up front honesty.
