Question:

Have Americans gotten so lazy they really sit, listen to the lies (speeches) & vote based on them?

People are always quick to say that the Founding Fathers wanted separation of church & state. What they forget is the Constitution was designed for a nation of citizens who held to some basic Christian faith, be it Baptist, Catholic, or whatever! you are lying to yourself. When a democratic republic operates outside of Christianity, soon a majority of the citizens will be enforcing laws which are contrary to God's laws, and to human decency. That is what we are seeing in the depravity of some of our nation's leaders, and in some of the deplorable choices we have left as candidates for president. The media is bombarding us with filth, lies, and venom! It is an addiction with most Americans at this point.

"3 For a time is coming when people will no longer listen to sound and wholesome teaching. They will follow their own desires and will look for teachers who will tell them whatever their itching ears want to hear. 4 They will reject the truth and chase after myths." (2 Timothy 3-4

  2. To answer the question, yes, unfortunately it appears that there are many people who are willing to vote based on only what they see portrayed by the media and other's opinions. I think it is really a shame because I know that in order for me to be a responsible voter it was my job to take the time and go to each candidate's individual website and research their individual stands on the issues. Then I had the knowledge, I felt to make an informed choice without letting all the filth and propoganda guide me to vote for the candidate of the day.

On your additional details, I'm not really seeing what this has to do with your original question unless it is an underhanded way of sneaking religion into a question that clearly does not come across that way.

You seem to have forgotten that there were indeed Non-Christians that came to this Country. Our Founding Fathers wanted America to truly be a land of the Free. That is why there is a separation of Church and State. Freedom means freedom of religion too.

People fled England because of persecution including religious persecution. There were Pagan, Jews and others; however that fact has been hidden pretty well because there are many that would like to believe that America is a Christian Country when indeed it is a Country of many faiths. Many more than people are even aware of. Mainly in part due to the religious right brainwashing people into believing that if they aren't Christian they aren't religious, won't go to heaven and all sorts of other horror stories.

There are so many more religions that stay hidden as to not "rock the boat" or face modern day persecution. I see you quoting the New Testament. Did you know that the very first Bible on record was written in Greek for the Jews by the Jews? I found that interesting when I learned that in a Theology class at the Catholic University I graduated from. BTW, I'm not a Catholic, I'm probably as far from being a Catholic as you can get without being an Atheist.

  3. Pretty much.

  4. Not only that, they're so lazy that they sit around on the internet and cut-and-paste things from one site to another.
