Question:

Have Beekeepers Considered...?

Since honeybees are abandoning their man-made hives, and there is some speculation that the buildup of toxins in the hives is driving them away, have beekeepers considered investing in building new, clean hives and transplanting queens into them? Is that a practical idea, and has anyone tried it?

  1. Drought took a lot of them out and yes we change our hives out regularly.

  2. We don't know why the bees are disappearing.

    I have some ideas,

    1) Electric bug zappers are killing them,

    2) Bees are attracted to spilled soft-drinks, but I have seen bees drinking from cans labeled "Nutra-Sweet" . The fact that Nutra-Sweet fools bees could be killing them. Nutra-Sweet doesn't turn into honey. Nutra Sweet turns into Formaldehyde, which is one of those toxins you mentioned.

  3. I can't answer your question but all I have to say is that those little beasts almost killed me last  year.
