As Dennis Commetti said tonight - Jason Johnson & Damien Peverill are in the teams's best 22 & they haven't been given a game thi sweekend. Has Knights & co conceded already? A bit early to give the fans such a message.

  1. Essendon threw in the towel the day they let Kevin Sheedy go, then threw a complete days laundry in when they hired Matty Knights.

I don't expect Knights to finish the season at Windy Hill.

  2. probably goin to play all the young blokes, to blod them for next year, he may have said that to the powers that be in his interview for the job.

  3. They can see the writing on the wall as well as the rest of us but I would have thought their best team may have been able to give Sydney a run for their money. We'll never know now.

  4. We will have to wait and see, I still think they will finish above teams like the Demons, Eagles and Dockers.

  5. Peverill has a broken jaw - but his form and Johnson's form has been below par

    .

  6. I dont think they have thrown the towel in. they just havnt had they're key players playing, and they have had heaps of c**p happening to them. they should be back in form soon.

  7. The problems at Essendon are too many injuries as a result of far too much running pre-season. It's not much good running if ya don't have the football with you.

The players are young, granted. however they don't appear to have football skills.

And another reason is that most of the players have very light frames, as opposed to top- of- the ladder clubs.

Maybe their recruitment section is searching for running players, and not tough ball getter's.

Some of them need a good meal by the look of them.

  8. Oh gee it sux being a Bombers fan!!!

They do have a pretty good list now but it's all a matter of injury woes and the young players getting enough experience! Another prob with the Dons is that they are never all in form at the same time!

The guys haven't thrown in the towel yet but I think I just about have! I have learnt to laugh now because if I didn't I would cry!

  9. no, they haven't, the players themselves - as seen earlier in week - are keeping their heads high and doing the best they can under dreadful limitations, including Johnson and peverill not playing up to their capability.

but don't dismiss them yet, Sydney.

  10. I am a long time essendon supporter and i know they have not thrown in the towel already this year. If you saw that they haven't played peverill and johnson you should have also seen that they are looking to the future and starting to bring up their young guns now so in the future we have a better side to win a grand final. As Matthew Knights said they would have won us a few more matches but they wouldn't help us with a grand final win

  11. The towel been thrown in and has landed on top of the Eagles towel.

  12. to be honest i think they did not even have a towel to throw in this year.it is time for them to go through that suffering stage every club has to,so they can end up like the cats , hawks and doggies...3 teams that are bloody great to watch to watch even if you do not follow them.

  13. I wouldn't think they have thrown the towel in yet.

I think Dennis Commetti makes a similar ty[pe commenmt at each of his Friday night segments just to cause a talking point.
