Question:

Have I been food poisoned??

just ate some cream of broccoli soup from a can that's about to expire soon.

It smelled fine. I put water in it instead of milk, and put it in the microwave.

When I started eating it, I wasn't sure if it tasted normal or not. It didn't seem like it. And the broccoli was very soft and smooshy. Is that normal?

When I was finished with eating about half of the soup, I started feeling like throwing up. It came up to the back of my throat. and I was starving before I starting eating it

Could this be poisoning? What should I do? I'm scared

I dun wanna die! D:

  1. Are you it wasn't the milk..i hate milk..

  2. vomiting won't make you die. easy...

yes, you've got a food poisoned. that soft and smooshy broccoli indicated that.

don't want to go to your dr? ok, just treat it by drinking milk to depoisoning it or a coconut water if any.

your throat is good to tell you there're poisons in your body.

  3. Its possible you may have gotten food poisoning. Usually you get stomach cramps & puke a lot & puke your vile. You wont die. Your body will just get dehydrated. So it's best to drink Pedialyte or simple make a lemonade but not with sugar maybe salt.. that worked when I got sick.

If it's not food poisoning then your stomach just didn't like it & you threw it up. Just puke it out... it should make you feel better once it's out of your system.

  4. If it is food poisoning, it's not from the soup. It takes several hours (like 24 to 48 I think) for food poisoning to take effect.

Broccoli usually seems to be mushy in canned soup so I think that's normal. It probably didn't taste quite right because you made it with water instead of milk.

I think you psyched yourself out, thinking about the expiration date and the mushiness and made yourself almost throw up. :) If not, could be a touch of the flu, or possibly (but unlikely) something you ate a day or two ago. Good luck. Hope you feel better soon.

  5. yep thats food poisining ive had it before go 2 the docter see what they can do and then it will take 1 week 2 get well

  6. Food poisoning doesn't happen immediately... it takes a few hours.

It likely tasted bad because it was done in the microwave which isn't the best way to cook things. It was most likely a mixture between how you cooked it and how close it was to the expiry date.
