Question:

Have I been "screwed" by Yahoo Q/A ?

I really like this site; and I've got my share of "violations"; which I've tried to "appeal"--to no avail. Today, one of my contacts asked, "Is it true that they're taking awayour 360's from us?" To which I responded, "I'm too computer illiterate to do the 360 thing---I don't know how". Violation; with no way to appeal. Is this a violation???

  1. Unfortunately your answer violated the chatting rule. Your contact asked about the possible termination of the 360° pages, and when you responded that you didn't even know how to set it up, it was not a direct response to the question itself. A direct response would have been something like <<No, that's not true, but Yahoo plans on merging the 360° pages, mash, and the Yahoo profiles into a single new feature some time this year>>. Btw - that is the correct answer, so if you want to, you may mail it to your contact if you want to...:-)

  2. i had a question deleted yesterday with no way of appealing. i don't even know if the people took the points away. i think that the higher in points we all get the harder we fall

  3. Not a thing wrong I can see. I woke to a vio for a very old answer I gave today. You'd think after something is resolved they couldn't report on it. But they can and do darn it. It was a very innocent answer to. LOL

  4. I wouldn't say "screwed", but the way they handle violation notice thing is screwy. The auto-response thing is a big turnoff for a lot of users; however, they continue to use the current system. As angry as I might get, Y!A experience has showed me that I should not try to figure these types of things out and just move on. Sounds like you might have a stalker--clean house when it comes to your contact list and move to another section for a while.

The TOS are a little ambiguous in nature, just fuzzy enough to make sense.

  5. yep, they "screwed "you. so join me and a long list of others they violated.lol
