Have I blown my chances of getting an interview?

Question

I applied for a part time weekend retail job yesterday and today they rang me asking if i wanted an interview. I said yes to 2pm not realising i had a doctors appointment i cant really cancel. So i rang back and told them and asked if i could possibly reschedulde it, she said not a problem and she would get someone to ring me back.

Do you think they will or have I shown im not commited or incompetent. =/

First thing, deep breath , don't panic :)

As long as you explained that you had the previous appointment that could not be broken, most people will understand and accept this. If they do not, the question remains: are they people you want to work for? You're talking about your health which should indicate that you are taking care of yourself and will be a better employee. If they can't or won't accept this, how will they react if you need to change shifts etc?

Hopefully they are REAL people. If they haven't contacted you within 48hrs, give them a little reminder call. It shows that you are very interested.

Call them back!! You have to be a little aggressive when it comes to Job hunting... there are probably a lot of applicant out there and they really dont need to waste time calling you back to reschedule. you know?

Edit: WTF!? Why did i get two thumbs down on this!? I said Call them back just like everyone else did! lol... call them today! But don't worry! There are plenty of jobs out there, you have to Put yourself out there! And dont be afraid to get turned down, it happens to everyone!

There's no telling, but I wouldn't think it would be a problem, just make sure you ring again if you don't hear, just in case THEY think you're backing out. LOL
