Question:

Have I eaten enough for the day?

I just need some help because I have "food issues". I don't know how much is enough and I am already seeking help.

Breakfast: Pear, Hot Cocoa (made with skim milk and 2tbsp of Nesquik)

Snack: Fat-free Yogurt with Blueberries in it.

Dinner (I know I missed a meal because I was out): We made Penne Pasta with ground turkey and onions (which I had maybe a medium serving of) and we added some whole grain bread on the side.

Family likes to eat dessert in the evening which will probably be something chocolate related. I'm thinking cookies. But have I eaten enough for the day already to skip dessert? I mean, I really want to enjoy it but I don't know if I've had enough.

  1. i think u can have dessert u didn't eat that much

  2. Think quality over quanity. You can skip tonight's dessert no matter how much food you've had because it is probably just empty calories if it is chocolate related.  Try having a healthy evening snack that will give you some of the nutrients that your body needs for optimal health. Try fresh fruit, a handful of almonds (for omega fatty acid), and a glass of milk (calcium). Maybe tomorrow you can eat more balanced meals throughout the day- or at least add a multivitamin. Hope this helps!

  3. Sounds pretty well balanced to me. Everything that you had is either lowfat or low calorie.  You have enough calories left for dessert especially since you skipped a meal.

  4. No, you didn't eat nearly enough. Some pasta and bread as grains, a little bit of meat (turkey), one veggie onions, 1 dairy yogurt, and 2 fruits blueberries and a pear. Eat the cookies.

  5. You only had 1-1/2 servings of fruits or veggies (the onions were probably not enough for a full serving; and the processed berries that come in yogurt don't count as a fruit serving).  You need 4-5 servings per day, so you're short ALOT of fruits and veggies for the day.  You should also have had a little protein with your breakfast (cheese, nuts, egg).  ...  Why not have a salad for a snack later, instead of more chocolate (since you already had some today)
