Question:

Have I knackered my Apache quad battery?

Last night i accidentally put two wires together which judging by the spark was not a good idea. Straight after when using the electric start, it just sounded like the battery was flat (you could hear it wanting to try). I bump started it and rode it for 15 minutes but when i went to use the electric start again, it had the same problem. Should i buy a new battery or do i need to go on more of a journey to charge it up?

  1. Sounds like you fried the starting solenoid or a ballast resistor when you crossed those wires. Take the battery to your local auto parts store and have it checked... This is a free service at most auto parts stores. If the battery checks good then you have fried a component in your electric start system. If your battery is flat the auto parts store should charge it up for free as well.
