  1. There are several links, and there isn't necessarily a link directly between apes and humans. Genetically, we can prove that humans and all other living primate have a genetic code similar enough that they can intro-breed, despite the chromosome differentiation, and produce offspring capable of reproduction. (by definition, that technically means that humans and all primates are the same species.). as far as a common ancestor of humans and  primates, Australopithecus is the best example.

  2. We have not yet found what might be called a direct line of descent. The fossil evidence, available to date, only goes back about four million years, and we really need to go back about six million years.

The main problem is finding fossils so old. Primates in general were not very numerous back then, and finding surviving fossils of them is no easy task. To find a recognisable fossil of a remote human ancestor is very nearly impossible.

DNA analysis can tell us how close we are to chimpanzees, for example, and give us a good idea about how far back we have to go to find our common ancestor (about 5 million years). But DNA is notoriously difficult to obtain from fossils and can't be much help to us in this quest.

That is the present situation, until someone gets lucky. If you ever go to the great Rift Valley of East Africa, it might be you.

  3. if humans evolved from apes why aren't any apes changing to humans today?neanderthal man looks like an ape but if you took his lower jaw and placed it where it should be, to line up with the teeth, then looked at the skull you would not see an ape but modern man.read the book "tornado in a junkyard"by jack (klasco)you can do a search and get his correct name and link to the book.

  4. This week, Nature, Science, Time, and National Geographic magazines published an article about Dr. Geoffery Pricee's scientific find deep in the heart of Africa. For those of you who are not up to date, the Pricee Group, a team of graduate students led under Professor Pricee himself, found a small tribe deep in the jungles of Ghana. This tribe seems resemble characteristics of both the ape and of man. Apparently, members of the tribe walk on two legs but live very much like the apes. They have the same mating habits, eat the same foods, and have the same behavior patterns of the apes. However, the tribe is very human. Currently, genetic testing is being done. Dr. Pricee firmly believes this tribe of Africans is the missing link. Basically, he has found a tribe of Africans that behave like apes. Do you think the black man from Africa is the missing link?

  5. Some guy found it last Tuesday; then the @&%^#!@ lost it on the way to the bar.

We have been looking for, “the missing link” ever since some yahoo who knew nothing about anthropology created the misconception. Now some bible thumper finds the “missing link” and then goes and looses it on the way to his favorite church…did I say church? I meant bar. Silly me.

Oh! Did I remember to say that the whole missing link fantasy was created by someone who knows about as much about anthropology as he/ she does about his/her religion which, by the way, is about zero.

  6. There are many ancient ancestors of both humans and apes, and if you go far enough back they are extremely similar. If you read much on this subject you'll see that it's often difficult to determine whether an ancient hominid fossil is ape or pre-human. But no, there has been no discovery of a "missing link". A few have been found related to other species, but they are rare.

  7. missing link will remain missing as there is, never was nor will ever me a link.  darwinmade a mistake does it mean we must perpetuate it? no no.  its definitely missing.  so no worries.  u look at the answers and we hope and pray if u r religious tt the link is still missing for it can be very embarassing to come fr the apes.  man is created noble and not a sinner.  probably if sinner, then excusable to come fr the monkeys.  so pl pl dear friend we hope u r now convinced

  8. Yes and they are looking for you.

  9. The original idea of the missing link was to find an animal that had characteristics of both apes and men.  That has be done several times with multiple examples.  There are so many examples that it is very difficult to say with certainty which are our ancestor.  To answer the question, yes it was found and the concept is very outdated and not particularly valid.
