Question:

Have Tayto become Hunky Dorys?

The Tayto factory closed down last year but Tayto crisps are still in the shops, in the same bag. However, it says that they are now made in Ashbourne, County Meath.

Isn't that where Hunky Dorys are/were made (and they were not nearly as tasty as Tayto)? I think they make Perri Crisps there too.

So what's the story? Are the crisps on sale in Tayto bags just Hunky Dorys in disguise? :(

  1. king crisps are the best

  2. I am so sad I read this question...it's like Santa Claus all over again! :(

Why did the Tayto factory close?  I love Tayto's they are the best. *looks upright, slightly to the left, and sees 'pub crisps, in dream-like-cloud.  Mouth waters...*

Otherwise Walkers Prawn Cocktail are quite nice.  Fickle? Who me.........?

  3. yes the company was sold and the factory closed. However, the crisps on sale are still in the Tayto bag and, more importantly, taste the same.  Obviously the manufacturing recipe was sold also.  I don't like Hunky dorys either!  Perri were made somewhere else and had a completely different taste.

It doesn't matter where they are made does it so long as the taste is the same and it is!

  4. Farmer Brown worchester sauce crisps were the best.

  5. as far as I remember , tayto were in Dublin ( tallaght I think) so hunky dory's are not tayto in disguise,  but I think you are missing out on the bigger picture here hahaha, I want to see farmer brown's ( crips!) back in the shops.. hunky dorys are minging anyway.. king are the best of the bunch...
