Question:

Have You Booked A Flight with Priceline's "Name Your Own Price"? ?

Im looking to fly next week from Dallas to Seattle. However, the prices jumped up $50-$80 since yesterday and I cannot seem to find a flight under $400. I thought about naming my own price through Priceline and possibly leaving from a smaller regional airport closer to me than Dallas. How do the Name you Own Price tickets work? Are they really bad tickets or something? And do you find out if your price was accepted and what your flight is directly after you pay or when? And is the aircraft super tiny or something? Any informaiton on this topic would be helpful. Thanks.

  1. When I booked on it, you could not see your flight until after you booked, so you didn't know what time you were leaving or coming back. So if you don't have a set time to leave or come back its a good deal. The flight I had was a normal flight, and I even got a window seat.

  2. Try www.bookingbuddy.com

  3. try ww.hotwire.com if you are flexible on the travel times Or search travelocity.com or orbitz.com, or bestfares.com to see the best prices out there. You might try going to the individual airline sites on the web to see if there is a better price available. On travelocity if you book a hotel with the airfare you can get a discount sometimes.

The best prices are usually available with 30 days advance, then 14 days advance, then 7 days advance. Different travel dates also might give you a lower price.  I have tried Priceline and at the last minute, the price never came through for me - they never responded to my offeres - so I have never been able to book with Priceline - but maybe others had better luck.
